Cormier, Esq., of Good Schneider Cormier & Fried, appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 17, 2023, Attorney Cormier requested: [1] For the period July 23, 1990 to the present, any public records that concern or relate to any investigations concerning an individual . . . in which the MSP was involved or participated; [2] For the period July 23, 1990 to the present, any public records that concern or relate to any investigations concerning the death of an individual . . . in which the MSP was involved or participated; [3] For the period July 23, 1990 to the present, any public records that concern or relate to MSP Case No. 90-112-0900-0168[;] [4] For the period July 23, 1990 to the present, any public records that concern or relate to the case of Commonwealth v. David Magraw, Norfolk Superior Court, Docket No. 97843 (Indictment issued on April 26, 1994). Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Attorney Cormier petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/1311, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it is unclear whether a response has been provided. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Attorney Cormier with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law, and its Regulations within 10 business days.
