The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records June 29, 2023 SPR23/1375 Brigid Finnegan Executive Assistant Office of the General Counsel Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department 200 Nashua Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Ms. Finnegan: I have received the petition of Michael W. Lodge, Sr. appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 10, 2023, Mr. Lodge requested “…a complete unredacted copy of my visitor log book that shows all the times that my trial counsel ... visited me at Nashua St. County Jail from January 30, 1995 through April 1996.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Lodge petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/1375, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided a response to Mr. Lodge on June 28, 2023. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Lodge may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Michael W.
