Assistant District Attorney Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office 15 Commonwealth Avenue Woburn, MA 01801 Dear Attorney DeBlander: I have received the petition of Lydia Carter appealing the response of the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 14, 2023, Ms. Carter requested the video of an identified interview. On May 1, 2023, the Department responded. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Ms. Carter petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/1627, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office intends to provide a further response to Ms. Carter. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Ms. Carter with said response, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Carter may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
