See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 22, 2023, Mr. Simpson requested “an incident report regarding an incident on June 5, 2023 at Ipswitch Park involving two [identified individuals].” On July 24, 2023, the Department provided Mr. Simpson with a response, denying access to the responsive record pursuant to Exemption (a) of the Public Records Law. As a result of the Department’s July 24th response, Mr. Simpson petitioned the Supervisor of Records and this appeal was opened. In an email on July 27, 2023, Mr. Simpson informed this office that he met with the Department’s Chief of Police, Michael P. Murphy, and as a result of that meeting, Mr. Simpson seeks to withdraw his administrative appeal. Accordingly, per Mr. Simpson’s request to withdraw his appeal, I will consider this administrative appeal closed.
