Jones City Clerk City of Newburyport 60 Pleasant Street Newburyport, MA 01950 Dear Mr. Jones: I have received the petition of Ghlee Woodworth appealing the response of the City of Newburyport (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 10, 2023, Ms. Woodworth requested written correspondence regarding multiple named individuals from date ranges in 2022. The City provided a response on April 20, 2023. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Ms. Woodworth petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/2119, was opened as a result. Based upon an email to this office on September 18, 2023, it is my understanding that the City intends on providing a further response to Ms. Woodworth. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Ms. Woodworth with a response to the request in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Woodworth may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
