Herman appealing the nonresponse of the University of Massachusetts (University) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 30, 2023, Mr. Herman requested “[c]ommunications related to UMass Dartmouth recently vacating a downtown New Bedford building that once was a department store, in the files of President Martin Meehan.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Herman petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/2227, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the University provided Mr. Herman with a response dated September 26, 2023. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the University’s lack of a written response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed.
