Director of Public Records Public Records Officer City of Boston 1 City Hall Square, Room 615 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Boston Accountability Network appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 2, 2023, the requestor sought the following: [1.] Any documents/correspondence related to an investigation conducted by the Residency Compliance Commission pertaining to [an identified official] or [an identified individual]; [2.] Any documents/correspondence in the possession of the BPDA which show/discuss [an identified official’s] residency; [3.] Any documents/correspondence in the possession of the BHA which show/discuss [an identified official’s] residency; [4.] Any documents/correspondence the city has that was submitted by [an identified group] in relation to this hearing; [5.] Any documents/correspondence the city has that was submitted by the respondent in relation to this hearing; [6.] Any documents/correspondence from the Ballot Law Commission and Elections Commission that relate to this hearing. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/2254, was opened as a result. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide the requestor with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
