McKeon Assistant Superintendent North Attleborough Public School District 6 Morse Street North Attleborough, MA 02760 Dear Ms. McKeon: I have received the petition of Mary Kate McGowan appealing the nonresponse of the North Attleborough Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 4, 2023, Ms. McGowan requested the School’s “special education policies and procedures.” In making her request, Ms. McGowan specified that “[t]hese are the documents that a district is required to have - and to make available to the public - as a condition of IDEA Part B funding.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. McGowan petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/2486, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the School provided Ms. McGowan with a response on October 24, 2023. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the School’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. McGowan may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
