See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 13, 2023, Ms. Goldman requested the following records: [1.] All emails to the SJP mailing list on October 9[.] [2.] All posts on the SJP Facebook group ... on October 9[.] [3.] All posts to the SJP chat on October 9. [4.] All official statements or emails by SJP to the general UMass Community Oct 7-13. These statements are by definition public. [5.] Emails from the National Students for Justice in Palestine to SJP leaders Oct 7-13. They use the server nationalsjp.org[.] UMass responded on October 25, 2023. Unsatisfied with the response, Ms. Goldman petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/2554, was opened as a result. It is my understanding that UMass intends on providing a further response to Ms. Goldman. Accordingly, UMass is ordered to provide Ms. Goldman with said response in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Goldman may appeal the substantive nature of UMass’ response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
