The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records October 31, 2023 SPR23/2594 Jayne Boissonneault Town Clerk Town of Dracut 62 Arlington Street Dracut, MA 01826 Dear Ms. Boissonneault: I have received the petition of Justin George appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Dracut (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 13, 2023, Mr. George requested the following records pertaining to an identified court case: [1.] … all records that pertain to legal fees, settlement fees, court fees, court- ordered payments, etc…. [2.] Statements of work, invoices, and reimbursement requests by lawyers used by the [T]own in relation to [an identified court case]. [3.] Purchase orders, cancelled checks, and other digital records of payment from the town to lawyers in relation to [an identified court case]. [4.] Any documents summarizing the total expenses in relation to [an identified court case], including settlement agreement. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. George petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/2594, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned the Town provided a response to Mr. George on October 30, 2023. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. George may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
