The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records January 23, 2024 SPR24/0063 Kerri L. Johnson Records Officer Police Officer Standards and Training Commission 100 Cambridge Street Boston, MA, 02114 Dear Ms. Johnson: I have received the petition of Elise Lambert, of the Committee for Public Counsel Services, appealing the nonresponse of the Police Officer Standards and Training Commission (Commission) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 12, 2023, Ms. Lambert requested, “[a]ll documents regarding [an identified] Trooper, including, but not limited to, complaints, correspondence, investigatory reports, and decisions by POST on certification and disciplinary matters.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Lambert petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/0063, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Commission provided Ms. Lambert with a response dated January 10, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Commission’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Lambert may appeal the substantive nature of the Commission’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Elise Lambert One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
