Box 392 Billerica, MA 01862 Dear Attorney Wong: I have received the petition of Naud Ghebre, of the Georgia Institute of Technology, appealing the response of the Sex Offender Registry Board (Board) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 4, 2024, Naud Ghebre requested “regular data dumps of the Massachusetts registry to help ... in developing [a specified] project. Ideally, an API is easiest, but ... CSVs or sql tables would work as well.” The Board responded on January 10, 2024, denying the request. Unsatisfied with the Board’s response, Naud Ghebre appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned that the Board provided a supplemental response by email to Naud Ghebre and this office on January 22, 2024. As this appeal was opened based on the Board’s January 10th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If unresolved issues remain, Naud Ghebre may further appeal the substantive nature of the Board’s January 22nd response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
