See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 9, 2024, Mr. Herman requested, “[r]ecords of all the expenses that [a named individual] has incurred in his capacity as chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth for the period January 1, 2023 to the December 31, 2023 . . .” The University provided a response on January 23, 2024. Unsatisfied with the University’s response, Mr. Herman petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/0213, was opened as a result. It is my understanding that the University intends on providing a further response to Mr. Herman to address his records request. Accordingly, the University is ordered to provide Mr. Herman with said response in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Herman may appeal the substantive nature of the University’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
