The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 7, 2024 SPR24/0265; SPR24/0266 Ruthy Barros Records Access Officer Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination One Ashburton Place, Suite 601 Boston, MA 02108 Dear Ms. Barros: I have received the petitions of Megan Hamilton-McKeon appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (Commission) to two requests for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 10, 2024, Ms. Hamilton-McKeon requested “the contents of [two identified] Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination’s investigative files” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Hamilton-McKeon petitioned this office and these appeals, SPR24/0265 and SPR24/0266, were opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Commission provided Ms. Hamilton-McKeon with a response to each of her requests dated January 22, 2024. Where these appeals were opened as a result of the Commission’s lack of a written response, I will now consider these administrative appeals closed. Ms. Hamilton-McKeon may appeal the substantive nature of the Commission’s responses within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Megan Hamilton-McKeon One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
