The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 7, 2024 SPR24/0332; SPR24/0333 Allison Mondello Public Records Manager Department of State Police 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Ms. Mondello: I have received the petitions of Debi McCarthy appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to two requests for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). SPR24/0332 On January 9, 2024, Ms. McCarthy requested any and all reports, call logs, citations, photos, narratives related to an accident involving [an identified individual], which occurred on 12/8/2023 at about 1700 hours on Route 495 southbound. SPR24/0333 On December 27, 2023, Ms. McCarthy requested: [1.] A copy of [an identified] accident report. [2.] A copy of the narrative and the citation given to [an identified individual]. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. McCarthy petitioned this office and these appeals, SPR24/0332 and SPR24/0333, were opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of these appeals, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Ms. McCarthy with a response to her requests, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office.
