Director of Public Records City of Boston One City Hall Square Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petitions of Michelle Efendi appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston (City) to two request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 23, 2024, Ms. Efendi requested: SPR24/0406 “. . . all records concerning protesters at Mayor Wu’s coffee hours in May through July 2022.” SPR24/0408 “. . . all records concerning protesters at Mayor Wu’s June 22, 2022 Coffee Hour event. Records may be between June 22, 2022 and June 25, 2022. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Efendi petitioned this office and these appeals, SPR24/0406 and SPR24/0408, were opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the City intends on providing a written response to Ms. Efendi. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Ms. Efendi with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Efendi may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days.
