The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records March 1, 2024 SPR24/0528 Bridget Allen Principal Clerk Northampton Police Department 29 Center Street Northampton, MA 01060 Dear Ms. Allen: I have received the petition of Michael Goodman appealing the response of the Northampton Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 9, 2024, Mr. Goodman requested, “…any criminal reports on two [identified individuals]…Dates applicable: November 1, 2023 through [February 9, 2024].” The Department responded on February 12, 2024. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Goodman petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/0528, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided a further response to Mr. Goodman on March 1, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s February 12th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Goodman may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s March 1, 2024 response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Michael Goodman One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
