The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records March 5, 2024 SPR24/0552 Danielle Paradis Records/Property Supervisor Barnstable Police Department 1200 Phinneys Lane Hyannis, MA 02601 Dear Ms. Paradis: I have received the petition of Matthew A. Slater, Esq. appealing the response of the Barnstable Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 15, 2024, Attorney Slater requested a police report for a specified motor vehicle accident. The Department responded on January 15, 2024. Unsatisfied with the response, Attorney Slater petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/0552, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided a further response on February 22, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s January 15th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Slater may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s February 22nd response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
