Johnson Records Access Officer Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission 100 Cambridge Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Ms. Johnson: I have received the petition of Neal McNamara appealing the nonresponse of the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (Commission) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 21, 2024, Mr. McNamara requested, “all documents passed to the POST Commission from the Wayland Police Department in regards to [an identified] officer . . .” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. McNamara petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1093, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Commission intends on providing a response to Mr. McNamara. Accordingly, the Commission is ordered to provide Mr. McNamara with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. McNamara may appeal the substantive nature of the Commission’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
