The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records April 25, 2024 SPR24/1104 Kim Gouveia Records Access Officer Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office 15 Commonwealth Avenue Woburn, MA 01801 Dear Ms. Gouveia: I have received the petition of Glorious Allah appealing the nonresponse of the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 9, 2024, the requestor stated: This is a request for public records of Commonwealth’s scientific report and testing procedures performed by [an identified individual], ballistician to furnish requester with all written or recorded material relating to any laboratory analysis and scientific tests that were attempted or completed and that are in the custody of or under the control of the district attorney or law enforcement officials. This includes but is not limited to all documents, graphs, log entries or notes taken in connection of the firearm evaluation of the alleged Cobra weapon. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1104, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the Office intends on providing a written response to the requestor. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide the requestor with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
