Newbury Chief of Department Saugus Fire Department 27 Hamilton Street Saugus, MA 01906 Dear Chief Newbury: I have received the petition of Loretta LaCentra appealing the response of the Saugus Fire Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66 § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 14, 2024, Ms. LaCentra requested “…a report from 1/1/2018 to the present indicating all [f]ire response calls to [an identified location]. I would also like to request copies of incident reports for these responses.” The Department provided a response on March 14, 2024 and again on April 1, 2024. Unsatisfied with the Department’s responses, Ms. LaCentra petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1173, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided a further response to Ms. LaCentra on April 18, 2024. Where this appeal was opened based on the Department’s March 14th and April 1st responses, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. LaCentra may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s April 18th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
