The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records May 9, 2024 SPR24/1269 Erin Brown Director of Information and Human Resources Beverly Public Schools 70 Balch Street Beverly, MA 01915 Dear Ms. Brown: I have received the petition of Commonwealth Transparency (“requestor”) appealing the response of the Beverly Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 26, 2024, the requestor sought, “[a]ny and all email communications which contains 1367661 and/or 1367661.v1 including any attachments. This [request] includes but is not limited to email, email-attachments, text messages, calendar entries, voice mail messages and/or physical documents. . . .” In an initial response on April 8, 2024, the School states, “[t]he [School] requires further clarification on what exactly is being requested.” On April 11, 2024, the requestor replied to the School, “[p]lease explain what clarifications we can make to help you?” On April 12, 2024, the School asked, “[w]hat is 136661—I have no idea.” The requestor informed the School, “[p]lease search your electronic mail systems for this text.” On April 26, 2024, the requestor petitioned the Supervisor of Records, stating, “[a]s of the date of this appeal, no responsive documents or responses have been received. [The requestor] hereby appeals the non-response of the [School].” As a result, this appeal was opened. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned that the School provided the requestor with a further response on April 26, 2024. Accordingly, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s April 26th response within ninety calendar days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
