Deputy City Solicitor City of Somerville 93 Highland Avenue Somerville, MA 02143 Dear Attorney Shapiro: I have received the petition of Melody Anderson appealing the response of the City of Somerville (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Ms. Anderson requested specific incident reports and 911 calls from the City. This request was the subject of a previous appeal. See SPR24/1258 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (May 8, 2024). In my May 8th determination, I closed SPR24/1258 in light of the City providing Ms. Anderson a written response on May 3, 2024. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Ms. Anderson further appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned that the City provided a supplemental response by email to Ms. Anderson and this office on May 21, 2024, including additional responsive records. As this appeal was opened based on the City’s May 3rd response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If unresolved issues remain, Ms. Anderson may further appeal the substantive nature of the City’s May 21st response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
