The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records May 20, 2024 SPR24/1448 Jennifer Little Leavitt Sharon Police Department 213 South Main Street Sharon, MA 02067 Dear Ms. Leavitt: On May 13, 2024, this office received your petition on behalf of the Sharon Police Department (Department) seeking permission to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.06(4). As required by law, I understand that the Department furnished a copy of this petition to the requestor, Attorney Douglas K. Snook, of Snook Law Office. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv)(2). On May 13, 2024, Attorney Snook requested “copies of all Motor Vehicle Crash reports concerning any motor vehicle accidents which occurred in [the Department’s] jurisdiction from May 5, 2024 to May 11, 2024.” Subsequent to the opening of this petition, in an email to this office on May 15, 2024, Brittney Long, also of Snook Law Office, indicated that Snook Law Office intends to pay the fees requested by the Department. In light of Ms. Long’s email, where the requestor intends to pay the fees, I find it is unnecessary to opine on the Department’s petition. Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Douglas K.
