The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records June 20, 2024 SPR24/1709 Maureen Colman Public Records Compliance Officer Town of Nantucket 16 Broad Street Nantucket, MA 02554 Dear Ms. Colman: I have received the petition of Lucas Newbill, Esq., of Law Offices of Lucas Newbill, appealing the response of the Town of Nantucket (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 3, 2024, Attorney Newbill requested, “…copies of all licenses issued under Town Bylaw [Chapter] 58 in 1998, 1999, 2022, 2023, and 2024.” On May 16, 2024, the Town provided the responsive records for 2024. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, on June 7, 2024, Attorney Newbill petitioned the Supervisor of Records, and this appeal was opened. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned the Town provided Attorney Newbill with a supplemental response on June 18, 2024, which included some responsive records. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s May 16th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Newbill may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s June 18th response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Lucas Newbill, Esq.
