The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records June 21, 2024 SPR24/1710 Leanne M. Adams Town Clerk Town of Abington 500 Gliniewicz Way Abington, MA 02351 Dear Ms. Adams: I have received the petition of John Ross, appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Abington (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 5, 2024, Mr. Ross requested “... a list of all tow contracts, bids, bills, communications, applications, reports, complaints with, to, or about MAC towing, or M.A.C. towing for the last 3 years.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Ross petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1710, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the proper agent for handling public record requests never received Mr. Ross’ request. Mr. Ross should note that public record requests to the Town should be sent to: Leanne M. Adams Town Clerk Town of Abington 500 Gliniewicz Way Abington, MA 02351 LMAdams@abingtonma.gov The Town has now been provided with Mr. Ross’ request. Accordingly the Town is ordered to provide Mr. Ross with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Ross may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety (90) days.
