The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records June 25, 2024 SPR24/1784 Christine Bongiorno Deputy Town Manager Town of Arlington 730 Massachusetts Avenue Arlington, MA 02476 Dear Ms. Bongiorno: I have received the petition of Christopher Loreti appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Arlington (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 27, 2024, Mr. Loreti requested the following: [1.] [P]ortion of the revised meting minutes of the Town Manage Screening Committee for February 7, 2023 showing the name of the four finalists for the position of Town Manager and the results of the vote or votes taken to select them as finalists. [2.] The resumes of the four finalists provided to the Screening Committee for the Town Manager position[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Loreti petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1784, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Town provided Mr. Loreti with a response on June 20, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Loreti may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s June 20th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Christopher Loreti One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727- 5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
