The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records June 28, 2024 SPR24/1790 Colleen Mejia, Esq. City Solicitor City of Everett 484 Broadway Everett, MA 02149 Dear Attorney Mejia: I have received the petition of John Hilliard, of the Boston Globe, appealing the nonresponse of the City of Everett (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 21, 2024, Mr. Hilliard requested the following: [1] Resumes of current Board of Assessors members[;] [2] Any mayoral appointments for the Board of Assessors from Sept. 1, 2023 to present[;] [3] Fiscal 2022 employee payroll[;] [4] Fiscal 2023 employee payroll[.] Prior Appeal The requested records were the subject of a prior appeal. See SPR24/1751 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (June 17, 2024). In my June 17th determination, I learned that the City provided Mr. Hilliard with a response on June 13, 2024. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Hilliard petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1790, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City provided Mr. Hilliard with a further response on June 27, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s June 13, 2024 response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Hilliard may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
