The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records July 8, 2024 SPR24/1858 Richard Jones City Clerk 60 Pleasant Street P.O. Box 550 Newburyport, MA 09150 Dear Mr. Jones I have received the petition of Walt Thompson appealing the response of the City of Newburyport (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 24, 2024, Mr. Thompson requested, “... a copy of the City Administrations timeline” which was referred to “during the open public meeting of the June 24, 2022.” The City provided a response on June 24, 2024. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Mr. Thompson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1858, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City provided Mr. Thompson with a response dated July 8, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s June 24, 2024 response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Thompson may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s July 8th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Walt Thompson One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
