Cormier appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 6, 2024, Attorney Cormier requested the following records: [1.] The “ASCLD/LAB Inspection Report for the Massachusetts State Police Forensic Services Group Central Lab at Sudbury” dated December 3, 2008; [2.] For the period of January 1, 2010 to January 1, 2012, all documentation concerning ASCLD/LAB inspections and/or audits of the Massachusetts State Police Forensic Services Group/Crime Laboratory, both on- and off-site; [3.] All attachments to the Massachusetts State Police Forensic Services Group Quality Assurance Management Section Internal Audit for the audit performed August 3-5, 2015 and signed December 9, 2015; [4.] All Attachments to the Massachusetts State Police Forensics Services Group Quality Assurance Management Section Internal Audit for the audit performed September 26-29, 2016 and signed January 12; [5.] For the period of January 1, 2008 to the present, all documentation provided to ASCLD/LAB to demonstrate conformance concerning procedures, protocols, and/or technical methods of testing fire debris on GC/MS instrumentation[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Attorney Cormier petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/1872, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Attorney Cormier with a response on July 1, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed.
