The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records July 22, 2024 SPR24/2016 Colleen Mejia Records Access Officer City of Everett 484 Broadway, Room 10 Everett, MA 02149 Dear Ms. Mejia: I have received the petition of Rudebwoy News appealing the nonresponse of the City of Everett (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 19, 2024, the requestor sought the following records: [1.] Any and all emails, memos, [and] notes regarding Elm Street Baptist Church (202 Elm St. Everett, MA) dating from 1/1/2024 thru [sic] to present day; [2.] The plan/timetable to replace the iron fence at Elm Street Baptist Church[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2016, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the City has provided a response. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide the requestor with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
