The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records August 20, 2024 SPR24/2217 Shawn A. Williams, Esq. Director of Public Records City of Boston One City Hall Square Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Christian A. Williams, of Harvard Law School, Criminal Justice Institute, appealing the response of the Boston Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 23, 2024, Mr. Williams requested, “…a copy of the map showing the locations of street cameras operated by the City of Boston. I understand this map may be called Intramap.” On June 23, 2024, the Department acknowledged Mr. Williams’ request, and provided him with a reference number for tracking purposes. On July 9, 2024, the Department provided Mr. Williams with a response. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Williams petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR24/2217, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, on August 13, 2024, the Department provided Mr. Williams with a supplemental response. Accordingly, where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s July 9th response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Williams may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Christian A.
