The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records September 11, 2024 SPR24/2510 Allison Mondello Massachusetts Department of State Police General Headquarters 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Ms. Mondello: I have received the petition of Andrew Vernon appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 15, 2024, Mr. Vernon requested the following: [1] The complete motor vehicle crash report, incident report and collision analysis report (if done) [2] Complete electronic copies of all visual and audio recordings from body worn cameras from all responding officers. [3] Complete electronic copies of all visual and audio recordings from dashcam cameras from all responding officers. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Vernon petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2510, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Vernon with a response dated August 30, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Vernon may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
