Mason appealing the response of the City of Lowell (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 20, 2024, Mr. Mason requested documents related to “… Lowell Police Case No. 2024-0008095A that took place on May 29, 2024.” The City provided a response on August 20, 2024. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Mr. Mason petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2511, was opened as a result. Subsequently, in a September 17, 2024 telephone conversation between the City and a staff member of the Public Records Division, the City expressed its intent to provide Mr. Mason with a supplemental response. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Mr. Mason with said response, in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
