The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records September 20, 2024 SPR24/2572 Paul Oliviera New Bedford Police Department 871 Rockdale Avenue New Bedford, MA 02740 Dear Mr. Oliviera: I have received the petition of Michael Economou appealing the nonresponse of the New Bedford Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 14, 2024, Mr. Economou requested “the most recent New Bedford Police Contract with salaries.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Economou petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2572, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Economou with a response on September 12, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Economou may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1) Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Michael Economou One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
