The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records September 24, 2024 SPR24/2626 Kerri L. Johnson Records Access Officer Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission 100 Cambridge Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Ms. Johnson: I have received the petition of Michele McPhee appealing the nonresponse of the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (Commission) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 28, 2024, Ms. McPhee requested “any and all public records, including, but not limited to, complaints filed pertaining to the following [five identified] Massachusetts law enforcement officials[.]” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. McPhee petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2626, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Commission provided Ms. McPhee with responses on September 18, 2024 and September 20, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Commission’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. McPhee may appeal the substantive nature of the Commission’s responses within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Michele McPhee One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
