Durno Town Clerk Town of Pepperell 1 Main Street Pepperell, MA 01463 Dear Ms. Durno: I have received the petition of Craig Hansen appealing the response of the Town of Pepperell (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 18, 2024, Mr. Hansen requested certain financial records discussed at a September 16, 2024 meeting of the Town Planning Board. The Town provided responses on September 18, September 20, and September 23, 2024. Unsatisfied with the Town’s responses, Mr. Hansen petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2685, was opened as a result. Subsequently, in a September 25, 2024 telephone conversation between the Town and a staff member of the Public Records Division, the Town explained that its records access officer did not receive a copy of Mr. Hansen’s request. The Town then expressed its willingness to provide Mr. Hansen with a supplemental response. Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide Mr. Hansen with said response, in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Hansen may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
