The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records October 15, 2024 SPR24/2713 Kevin Scanlon, Esq. General Counsel Massachusetts Convention Center Authority 415 Summer Street Boston, MA 02210 Dear Attorney Scanlon: I have received the petition of Colman Herman appealing the response of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (Center) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 13, 2024, Mr. Herman requested “… copies of any and all legal invoices submitted by any and all law firms for matters involving the departure of [an identified individual].” The Center responded on September 27, 2024. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Herman petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2713, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Center intends on providing a supplemental response to Mr. Herman. Accordingly, the Center is ordered to provide Mr. Herman with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Herman may appeal the substantive nature of the Center’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Colman Herman One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
