Director of Public Records City of Boston 1 City Hall Square, Room 615 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Meg Kerrigan appealing the response of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 22, 2024, Ms. Kerrigan requested, “[t]he complete investigative file and all records associated with the murder of [an identified individual] on or about November 6, 1990 … and any and all related records not specifically requested.” The City provided a response on July 30, 2024 and assigned “Case No.: R0003043-072624” to this request. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Ms. Kerrigan petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2765, was opened as a result. Subsequently, the City provided a supplemental response on October 8, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s July 30th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Kerrigan may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s October 8th response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
