Records Access Officer City of Boston 1 City Hall Square Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Chris Connolly appealing the response of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 26, 2024, Mr. Connolly requested, “a copy of any Boston Police incident reports, any supplements of those incident reports, arrest booking forms, prisoner disposition forms, police incident cover sheets, Boston Police CAD sheets, and Boston Police turret tapes associated with the event at Boston Public School’s Succeed Boston… on Monday May 6, 2024 involving [a named individual] [R003944-092624].” The City responded on September 27, 2024, withholding the records. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Connolly petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2821, was opened as a result. Subsequently, in an email to this office on October 15, 2024, I learned that a representative from the City intends on providing a further response to Mr. Connolly to address his records request. Accordingly, the City is ordered to provide Mr. Connolly with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
