The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records October 31, 2024 SPR24/2862 Carol Moore Records Access Officer City of Newton 1000 Commonwealth Avenue Newton Centre, MA 02459 Dear Ms. Moore: I have received the petition of Sari Korman appealing the nonresponse of the City of Newton (Newton) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 24, 2024, Ms. Korman requested: [1] Complaints filed against . . . Suffolk Road from 2014 – present. [2] Minutes of Historic Commission pertaining to . . . Suffolk Road from 2014 – present. [3] Complaints (calls, emails, in person) made to Newton Inspectional Services against . . . Suffolk Road from 2014 – present. [4] Minutes related to change in ordinance defining a temporary structure on residential premises (dates back sometime between 2014 & 2020]. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Korman petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2862, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City provided Ms. Korman with a response dated October 8, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Korman may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
