The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records October 23, 2024 SPR24/2863 Allison Mondello Public Records Manager Office of the Chief Legal Counsel Department of State Police 50 Maple Street Milford, MA 01757 Dear Ms. Mondello: I have received the petition of Mateo Vazquez, of Jeffrey Glassman Injury Lawyers, appealing the response of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 4, 2024, Mr. Vazquez requested, “…all public records including, but not limited to: -reports, -accident reconstruction reports- photographs –recordings –body cam footage -911 recordings – surveillance tapes –investigatory documents –witness statements, etc, related to a motor vehicle accident that happened on April 29, 2021 involving [an identified individual], in electronic format. Attached … is a power of attorney of our client should you require it.” On October 9, 2024, the Department provided a response. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Vasquez petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2863, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Vazquez with a supplemental response on October 21, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s October 9th response, I will consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Vazquez may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s October 21st response within ninety calendar days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
