G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv); see also 950 C.M.R. 32.06(4). As required by law, it is my understanding that the Department furnished a copy of the petition to the requestor, Craig Tavares. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv)(2). On October 10, 2024, Mr. Tavares requested “any and all internal affairs records in the possession of the Massachusetts State Police, including but not limited to civilian complaints, officers’ reports, and internal affairs reports, that pertain to [identified individuals].” Subsequently, in an email to the Department on October 24, 2024, Mr. Tavares states “[n]o objection to the 20 days requested for the reason stated regarding scope.” In light of the above, it is unnecessary to opine on the Department’s petition for an extension of time.
