The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records November 6, 2024 SPR24/2916 Raquel Loayza Paralegal Department of Agricultural Resources 225 Turnpike Road, 3rd Floor Southborough, MA 01772 Dear Ms. Loayza: I have received the petition of Attorney Chris Kenny, of Clifford & Kenny, LLP, appealing the response of the Department of Agricultural Resources (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 10, 2024, Attorney Kenny requested “copies of the barn Inspection booklet and/or barn Inspections for the Town of East Bridgewater for the year 2023.” The Department responded on October 24, 2024. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Attorney Kenny petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR24/2916, was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned that the Department intends to provide a supplemental response to Attorney Kenny. Accordingly, said response must be provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If issues remain unresolved, Attorney Kenny may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s supplemental response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Chris Kenny, Esq.
