The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records October 30, 2024 SPR24/2945 Arielle Mullaney, Esq. Assistant General Counsel Executive Office of Public Safety and Security 1 Ashburton Place, Suite 2133 Boston, MA 02108 Dear Attorney Mullaney: I have received the petition of Ally R (“requestor”) appealing the nonresponse of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 20, 2024, the requestor sought the following: [1] Records sufficient to document the nature of the [specified] contracted work, such as agreements, proposals, statements of work, emails/communication, and/or research products (e.g., briefs, reports, presentations, etc)[;] [2] Records sufficient to show dates and amounts of payment for the contracted services, such as purchase orders, invoices, and/or receipts. Claiming to not yet have received a response, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2945, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department of Correction (Department) provided the requestor with a response on October 28, 2024. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
