The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records November 8, 2024 SPR24/2951 Helen Rush-Lloyd Primary Records Access Officer Department of Public Health 250 Washington Street Boston, MA 02108 Dear Ms. Rush-Lloyd: I have received the petition of Massachusetts Free Press (requestor) appealing the response of the Department of Public Health (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. See c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 21, 2024, the requestor sought “all records regarding the spending for Maura Healey’s ‘Avoid Anti-Abortion Centers’ campaign, specifically how much has been spent on billboards and ads all over the state and on the internet?” The Department responded on August 1, 2024. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, the requestor petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/2951, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department intends on providing a supplemental response to the requestor. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide the requestor with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. The requestor may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
