The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records December 27, 2024 SPR24/3418 Kate Silva Director of Communications Record Access Officer Department of Correction 50 Maple Street Milford, MA 01757 Dear Ms. Silva: I have received the petition of Darius Gibson appealing the nonresponse of the Department of Corrections (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On November 28, 2024, Mr. Gibson requested the following: [1] Documentation as to the date [an identified individual] became a ips officer[;] [2] Documentation as to each year of [an identified individual’s] employment in DOC how many complaints were made per year[;] [3] Redacted copies of all complaints against [an identified individual;] [4] Redacted copies of all complaints against [an identified individual;] [5] Documentation as to how many times [an identified individual] has been sued[;] [6] Documentation as to all incident reports related to cocaine being reported at NCCI Gardner in 2023[;] [7] Documentation as to the brands and models of pistols officers carry[;] [8] All documentation stating why transgender/GNC inmates are to be single cell status at facility SBCC, but are not single cell status in medium facilitys[sic][;] [9] Documentation as to the dates [an identified individuals] became IPS officers[;] [10] Redacted copies of all complaints made against [an identified individual][.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Gibson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR24/3418, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Mr. Gibson with a response on December 17, 2024.
