Assistant City Solicitor City of Worcester – Law Department 455 Main Street, Room 301 Worcester, MA 0160 Dear Attorney Thompson: I have received the petition of Elise Lambert, of the Committee for Public Counsel Services, appealing the nonresponse of the Worcester Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 18, 2024, Ms. Lambert requested: records in the possession of the Worcester Police Department. SPR25/0124 Page 2 January 27, 2025 Police Department, MD[;] … Officer in Campden County, NJ[;] [and] [an identified individual;] [3] Any invoices or receipts showing payments from [CITY] Police Department to any of the above-named training companies/individuals[;] [4] Any invoices or receipts showing proof of reimbursement to officers who paid To attend any trainings conducted by any of the above-named training companies/ individuals[;] [5] A list of all police officers employed by [CITY] Police Department who are Planning on attending any upcoming training(s) conducted by any of the above- named training companies/individuals[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Lambert petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0124, was opened as a result. It is my understanding that the Department intends on providing a written response to Ms. Lambert. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Ms. Lambert with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
