Hennessey appealing the nonresponse of the Department of State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 13, 2024, Attorney Hennessey requested the following records: [1] Internal affairs reports, investigations, complaints and findings of [an identified] Trooper … [2] Internal affairs reports, investigations, complaints and findings of [an identified individual] [3] Statistics of immediate threat letters filed by [two identified] Trooper[s] [4] Copy of the immediate threat letters filed by [an identified] Trooper … against [an identified individual] [5] Statistics of immediate threat letters filed by the Massachusetts State Police to the Registry of Motor Vehicles from January 1, 2023 to present[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Attorney Hennessey petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0144, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned the Department intends on providing a written response to Attorney Hennessey. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Attorney Hennessey with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days.
