The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 3, 2025 SPR25/0185 Jeanette Meredith Administrative Aide Office of the Town Manager Town of Saugus 298 Central Street, Suite 8 Saugus, MA 01906 Dear Ms. Meredith: I have received the petition of Sharon Floramo appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Saugus (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 16, 2024, Ms. Floramo requested: [1] Stanton Foundation Municipal Dog Park Grant Funding details of the full amount that will be granted as of December 2024 amounts[;] [2] Cost of the dog park installation - how will the construction be funded? Does the foundation only provide a quarter of the cost[;] [3] A report showing when or if the Town of Saugus received the Stanton Foundation grant money[;] [4] Annual Electricity and Water Bills for the dog park how will those be paid[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Floramo petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR25/0185, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Town has provided a response. Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide Ms. Floramo with a response to her request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Floramo may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
